INDIANAPOLIS - From author Erik "Kriger" Carlsen's personal experiences and extensive world travel, coupled with his imagination and love of storytelling, comes a delightful collection of eclectic short stories that will entertain and enlighten readers. "Ten Worldly Tales" is a diverse volume dealing with a variety of topics, venues and time periods.

With locales ranging from rural Oklahoma and sophisticated Manhattan neighborhoods to Southeast Asia and wartime Europe, this collection offers many different settings and subject matters that will appeal to all readers who enjoy being transported to new worlds. If there is a common thread running through the collection of short stories, it is the unexpected turns of events made credible through graphic imagery. Carlsen does not have a message. His goal is simply to spin yarns, which, he hopes, will entertain his readers.

The stories cover a wide variety of topics: from terrorism to "walks on the wild side" to poignant reflections on unforeseen situations that inevitably occur in life. This collection will have readers feeling challenged, broadened, and moved. With emotions and places brought to life by complex characters made real and relatable, "Ten Worldly Tales" is an undeniably tempting offer of short stories which are quick and easy to digest in this rushed, sound bite world.
