NEW MILFORD, Conn., Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ Snowflake Stories, LLC announces the release of the award-winning bookDance Recital, the first in a line of bilingual personalized children's books, which embrace diversity. Snowflake Stories was founded on the belief that it shouldn't matter if a child has blue eyes or brown, speaks English or Spanish, or has a single mom or twoall of these children should be able to see themselves and their loved ones in their very own personalized book.

A Snowflake Stories personalized children's book includes the name and age of the child receiving the book and much more. Visitors to the website select three to five of the child's family members to appear in the story; and with a few clicks of the mouse, skin color, hairstyle, eye color, and other traits are selected so that the cast of characters resembles the child and her loved ones. Another distinguishing feature of Snowflake Stories personalized children's books is that they are available in bilingual and single-language versions in any of the following languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian. And every story is written in rhyme in each of the five languages.

Dance Recitaltells the story of a young girl who is nervous about her first dance recital. Throughout the book, the girl asks family members for their advice. After implementing her loved ones' suggestions, the girl's confidence grows, and she gives an error-free performance on the day of the recital.

The book was written by Jill Barletti, who struggled to find books written in Spanish for her two bi-racial children. Understanding the difficulty of finding books in languages other than English, she madeDance Recitalavailable in five different languages. Barletti also wanted to use the books as a vehicle for helping children develop a positive self-image by featuring healthy-sized characters in the illustrations. "No 'spaghetti arms,'" she insisted.

Snowflake Stories tapped celebrated Croatian illustrator Jelena Brezovec forDance Recital. Brezovec's work has been lauded in Europe and was chosen for the prestigious Croatian Illustration Biennial in 2014. The Croatian's work was also displayed as part of a "200 Years of Grimm Fairy Tales" exhibition in 2012 and in the fifth International Illustrator's Competition in Italy in 2013.

The second book, also illustrated by Brezovec, is written for boys as well as girls. It is slated for release later in 2015. For more information on either book please visitwww.SnowflakeStories.com. For more information on Brezovec, please refer to herwebsiteor herBehance profile.
