Leading independent eBook publisher RosettaBooks has announced the first-time digital release of the most current and comprehensive biography of Arthur C. Clarke's life.

A unique chronicle of one of the founders of the science fiction genre, Sir Arthur C. Clarke: Odyssey of a Visionary by Neil McAleer is a detailed and surprisingly intimate biography which takes readers behind the scenes during Clarke's famous collaboration with Stanley Kubrick on the classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey. It also highlights the visionary scientific concepts he imagined in his books-many of which later became reality.

The eBook is part of the RosettaBooks Arthur C. Clarke Collection, a collection of 35 eBooks led by Clarke's masterworks Childhood's End and 2001: A Space Odyssey, as well as his short story collection.

"Arthur C. Clarke was a visionary and the only science-fiction writer to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. This biography is a unique chronicle of his life as an author, inventor and futurist," said Arthur Klebanoff, CEO of RosettaBooks.

Clarke's short stories and novels have also won numerous Hugo and Nebula Awards, have been translated into more than 30 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide.

Neil McAleer is a writer with publications in the areas of popular science, fiction and biography. He is the author of The Mind-Boggling Universe and The Cosmic Mind-Boggling Book, as well as the Robert S. Ball award-winning The Omni Space Almanac. He has published articles in numerous magazines including Smithsonian's Air and Space, Popular Science, OMNI Magazine and Discover. In addition, he was a close friend of Arthur C. Clarke's - and his personal interviews with Clarke over the years add considerably to the depth of his biographical work.

Sir Arthur C. Clarke: Odyssey of a Visionary is on sale at a digital list price of $9.99 per volume at Kindle, Nook, iBookstore, and Kobo. The eBook is a revision of the 1992 publication of Arthur C. Clarke: The Authorized Biography written by McAleer and includes forewords by Ray Bradbury, Walter Cronkite and the author.
