Rod Mills returns to the world of literature with his latest novel, "The Bishop of South Park" (published by Xlibris). A follow-up to Mills' "Father Myron, A Novel," this new book examines issues such as faith, religion, interracial relationships and what happens when these forces collide.
"The Bishop of South Park" introduces Byron Zorn, a prolific scholar and gifted speaker who aspires to serve as a minister for a large church someday. God, however, had other plans for the brilliant young man. Instead of becoming the preacher for a big, high-profile church, Byron is given the position of assistant bishop for the Holy Ground Miracle Gospel Tabernacle, a small church in the all-black South Park District.
Although the position was non-salaried and the flock had a way of making the job full-time, Byron, a white man, accepted his new responsibility. What unfolds is a story of a young, white preacher's journey into an unfamiliar culture and a heartrending, sometimes humorous, tale of sacrifice and courage within the volatile waters of interracial relationships.

About the Author
Rod Mills served in churches in the Northwest and Chicago area. A former high school English and Spanish teacher, he also served as a missionary to Mexico. Mills studied at the University of Oregon, and received his Th.D from Kingsway Seminary.
