Sixteen years of dealing with the addiction of all three of his children as well as the suicide of his son gave author Robert Mitchell the insight to write his new book, "Raising Drug Addicts: A Father's Account, with Lessons Learned and Sections by my Daughter from the Orange County Jail" (published by WestBow Press), the story of a family struggling with drug addiction co-authored with his daughter Hannah.

The true story of the Mitchell family follows Mitchell and his three children. The story centers on them, their drug and alcohol addiction and the lessons learned from the experiences. After his son, Christian, committed suicide while recovering from heroin addiction, Mitchell looked for God's purpose in the situations his family had endured.

"This book is targeted at helping the loved ones of anyone who is addicted or abusing drugs or alcohol," Mitchell says. "Parents approaching their teens, teens who are experimenting with drugs or even teens who have never abused drugs should read this book."
