In "Lord Sterling" (published by CrossBooks), Robert Blackwell's new adventure novel, readers follow Sterling and his companions on their quest. The "Great Light's" power becomes more and more evident as the group of travelers get involved in physical battles as well as battles for the souls of men. The more they trust and obey, the more power and guidance they receive.

Blackwell suggests that modern men, particularly modern Christian men, have been stripped of their masculinity. In "Lord Sterling," he celebrates powerful men who demonstrate their strength - both natural and supernatural - by obediently following the quest set before them.

An excerpt from "Lord Sterling":

"'In the heart of a young man there is nothing more powerful than to rise to the expectations of those around him. I, many times, took when I should have given and pressed when I should have paused. As you have said, Dutch, I have made a name for myself, but to what end? I love not, and am unloved. I protect not, and find I am unprotected. My fame shadows me like a demon of old. I feel I have yet another battle to join, but my fate is undetermined. But here I am.'"

"'A man's greatness is not only in his deeds,' spoke Dutch, 'but in how he lives with those deeds thereafter.'"

Blackwell argues that the key to great strength is having faith in God. "Anyone with any amount of talent can do great things when they have a relationship with God and obey Him," he says.
