What makes one an enlightened leader? Author Price Schwenck reveals the answer in "The Journey of an Enlightened Leader" (published by Xlibris). In this self-help book, he shares his academic study and leadership experiences with managers who wish to improve the effectiveness of their organizations for the benefit and well-being of all stakeholders.

According to Schwenck, the things people do are dependent upon the things they believe. In organizations, the collective body of conscious and unconscious assumptions, premises, attitudes and feelings held by management and the processes, methods and practices used to get things done are linked in this dependent cause-and-effect relationship. His aim in writing this book is to demonstrate and explain the problematic consequences of many conventional management practices and to point the way toward more effective means to manage and lead.

Many organizations use management practices that are based on inaccurate beliefs about people. An enlightened leader strives to understand why these practices are inadequate and seeks more effective ways to lead. An informative reading material, managers will be able to use this book in plotting ways to reinforce or change the effectiveness of their organizations and their areas of responsibility.

In a society that witnesses a continuing downward spiral in many organizations in the level of satisfaction and joys that employees experience, "The Journey of an Enlightened Leader" points the way in reversing that trend.
