When Peter Leis was undergoing recovery process from stroke in the early 2000s, he was advised by his doctor to start writing about his earlier memories to aid the diagnosis of potential memory loss. But what started as a simple compliance to a clinical request took him on a different course - one that led him to regain his vigor for life and achieve healing beyond the physical. He shares this journey in his book, "Through My Eyes - And to the Best of My Memory" (published by Xlibris AU).

How could memories aid a person in recovery? Leis believes the process is highly individual. He speaks from experience and concedes to the fact that each journey is different for every person. While some memories may be painful to remember, there are plenty of other ones to relish and these are the ones he relied on. Recalling these memories, he says, helped him establish "a sense of accomplishment and identity" - a feat that watered the seeds of hope and blossomed into something spiritual and soulfully rewarding.

"Through My Eyes" tells Leis's story from the beginning to the present, a manifesto of the indomitable power of faith and the human spirit.
