A female devil gives birth to twin daughters who couldn't be more different from each other - one is an angel, one is a devil - in the new fantasy fiction "The Blood Inside" (published by Trafford Publishing) from author Chris Parkhurst.

Lilith, after falling in love with an angel, gives birth to twin daughters Alita and Kira. Alita, born with more angelic blood than Kira, is given up for adoption while Kira, who has more devil blood, is raised by Lilith.

The two grow up without knowing each other exists. Then a young devil named Saya comes into both of their lives at different times: Saya first meets Alita, but renounces her friendship once she learns of Alita's angelic background. She later encounters Kira, not realizing Kira's relation to Alita, and the two become fast friends.

As their relationship grows, Saya and Kira fall in love; but, even after 11 years, Saya cannot get the memory of Alita out of her head and decides the best course of action is to eliminate Alita not only from her thoughts, but also from the physical world. Instead of killing Alita, Saya is destroyed in the fight, leaving Alita to confront Kira and learn of their biological ties. A rift is then created between the two twins as love and vengeance drive their actions in the thrilling battle of wills that follows.

An excerpt from "The Blood Inside":

"I watch her sleep as the air flows smoothly in and out of her. There was this tranquility about her while she slept. She wasn't a devil. I wasn't a devil. We were just two ten-year-old girls. I continue to stare at her until my eyes slowly close. When I begin to drift away, I feel a light pressure press on my body. The warm sensation from her body covers me as I am drawn in closer. I can see the strength radiating off her skin. I never felt more protected, and in that moment, I fell in love with her."
