Popular culture has always been fascinated by the Mafia, as evidenced by the media's glorified depiction of the mob and their movie-star lifestyle in classic films like the "The Godfather" and "Goodfellas." Authors Rona Newton and Mark Biermann share this fascination, and penned a modern-day depiction of the Mafia and their families, delving the reader into the dangerous world of organized crime with the pages of "Omerta Mafia Code of Silence."

The story follows young Marko Bennett, a handsome young marine recently returned home from two and a half years in the 'Special Forces,' serving in the front line in Afghanistan, and fighting against the Taliban. In a twist of fate, this all-American hero joins the family and takes the Omerta, and begins his climb up the ranks of the Mafia. The reader will see him as he makes his way from Los Angeles to New York, assuming a jet-setting lifestyle and traveling around the globe with the Don and his fellow gangsters, from the island of Sicily to the beaches of Colombia. Marko ends up living a life of wealth, power and success, but the costs of being a made man are steep as he contends with rival syndicates and cartels, and begins a dangerous yet passionate relationship with the daughter of the mob's most powerful lawyer. There is action, romance and ultimately revenge, as the bodies pile up in Marko's rise to power.

Newton and Biermann's novel will show the reader a story of the Mafia today, depicting the opulent lifestyle they live and the power of La Cosa Nostra, with the emphasis on Marko Bennett and his adrenalin-packed exploits and romantic encounters.
