Author Leslie Marie Matula seeks to inspire children to be all that God wants them to be in her new children's book, "Meet the GraceMeadow Gang: Being Helpful" (published by WestBow Press), the first in a planned series.

Set on a ranch in Texas, "Meet the GraceMeadow Gang" introduces readers to Nini and Poppa, an elderly couple that cares for the critters who inhabit their bluebonnet meadow. There's red rooster Roy, two pups named Annabelle and Bo and two horses - Bella and Jake. The characters model Christian values such as helpfulness, respect and faithfulness.

Every morning, Roy wakes up the whole gang, and after thanking God for a brand new day, the ranchers and animals begin helping one another and working together to please God.

This is a very simple tale that is fun to read and filled with colorful illustrations. "Meet the GraceMeadow Gang" demonstrates that no matter how small one is there are simple but important ways to be helpful. Matula is currently planning other titles centered on Christian values, including "GraceMeadow Gang: Being Brave," "GraceMeadow Gang: Loving a Lonely Friend" and "GraceMeadow Gang: Giving Thanks."

Praise for "Meet the GraceMeadow Gang":

"These are beautifully gentle tales that are spun with Christian values. Emergent readers will love the sweet-natured characters and hear their own wonderings in the age appropriate plots."
