Mill City Press Author Releases New Fantasy Adventure Debuts Book I
In BLACK SCALES Book I: The Dragons of Apenninus, 14-year-old Icabus's island village is under siege by the Authian King, Furius. Only the mysterious dragon knight, Nubis, can help Icabus save his family and friends, but first he must prove himself to be more than a boy or man.
Black Scales is a fast-paced, high-stakes, action-packed adventure set in a magical world of dragons, sorcerers, and shape-shifters. Told through multiple perspectives, Black Scales will keep you guessing till the end.
From the day Odysseus began his journey home, the storyteller has used fantasy to explore the human condition. Black Scales examines how loss and grief can transform a person and a society, and whether or not it's ever too late to choose a new path, said Agapoff.
James Rudolph Agapoff IV is a physician, Army officer, and American fantasy writer who lives in Honolulu, HI. He studied neuroscience and Latin at Columbia University before matriculating to medical school where he began his first novel, "Black Scales."
