Mega Best-Selling Authors Appealing to Younger Generation of Readers

In a recent article in The Washington Post, they report on top authors who are selling hundreds of millions of books, reiterating that reading is still a favorite pasttime of our younger generation, despite living in the electronic age.

Brazilian author Paulo Coelho who is best known for his book, "The Alchemist," has had the book translated into 81 languages. In addition, his other work, "The Spy" has already sold an estimated 350 million copies.

Stephen King has also sold approximately 350 million books, and Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code" reports 80 million copies sold.

Successful best selling authors such as Ken Follett, Nora Roberts, James Patterson and Stephenie Meyer also have an enormous following, especially among the younger generation of readers, who seem to treat them like rock stars, following them on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media outlets.
