In "Fertilizer 'tween My Toes" (published by iUniverse), author Marshall Rowland shares a lifetime of wisdom and experience with readers as he recounts the highlights and hardships of his life and career in country music, including his memories of meeting legends such as Elvis Presley, Pat Boone, Andy Griffith and many other country music stars.

Inspired by encouragement from his friends, "Fertilizer 'tween My Toes" is Rowland's moving rags-to-riches story set in southern Georgia and northern Florida. Rowland grew up during the 1930's with very little formal education and no parental guidance, but his spirit and determination propelled him onto bigger and better things.

After moving out to rural Georgia, Rowland met Henry Wiggins, who introduced him to country music. So touched by the music, Rowland decided his lack of education and financial means was not going to hinder him. He left the countryside and began his successful career in country music.

Readers will join Rowland as he meets some of country music's legends throughout his career. Rowland remembers his time in a hillbilly band following Ray Charles and the highlights of his career as a disc jockey, including a very special interview with Elvis Presley himself.

Rowland hopes readers facing poverty and lack of education will find his story inspiring. He advises his readers to better themselves for their families, above all.
