"MYRRH" provides an unforgettable journey through the multiple spheres of myth, belief and history. The Four - better known as Willie (War), Frank (Famine), Petey (Pestilence) and Dave (Death) have, through millennia of exposure to their victims, learned to think for themselves and even to dream, but thanks to our ancestors they've also lost their horses and most of their weapons. Worse still, there are countless universes of humankind to cull; there have been since late antiquity. Taking turns narrating the action, the Horsemen relate their coming to learn how they will be disposed of after Armageddon, and how they choose to outwit Heaven, Hell and the Antichrist all.

The story counts among its characters two not-yet-fallen archangels; Hell's demon ambassador to the Horsemen; a good Catholic investment banker (there are such things); the late (or is he?) surrealist artist Salvador Dali; a Roman emperor; a Brooklyn bar owner; and St. Joseph, the world's most famous foster father, among many others. The author blends philosophy, Scripture and poetry in this imaginative debut novel.

This is the first book for author K. Griffiths, who was born on Staten Island, N.Y., in 1955 and was largely educated by the Irish Christian Brothers. An engineer, he owns his own electronic security design, installation and consulting firm. Griffiths wrote humorous articles for his college newspaper and magazines and has published articles on security in professional association journals such as "Security Sales" magazine and "Security Systems News." Griffiths lives in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City and has a son and a daughter. They were his first fans.
