RAYMORE, Mo.

Chronicling 10 years of her darkest days, author Keela Vaughn's new book, "Finding the Light in the Darkness" (published by WestBow Press), is an intimate look at how her belief in God helped Vaughn overcome trials in her life.

"Evil has such a big influence today," Vaughn says. "I want to show that with God, anything is possible. I actually lived through the struggle and made mistakes, but with God's help I conquered."

The book's main story follows Vaughn's struggle to accept her husband's life-threatening illness. Vaughn felt helpless, stressed, bitter and depressed trying to deal with the curveball life had thrown her.

Through faith in God and a strong will to change her life perspective, Vaughn took steps toward a new path - a path of forgiveness, peace and love.

Vaughn hopes readers will take away from her book a sense that anything is possible with God's support, even when dealing with traumatic and depressing events.
