Simon & Schuster Audio has just announced that Jim Dale will read the audiobook of Susan Cooper's highly anticipated new novel GHOST HAWK, due out August 27, 2013. The unabridged audiobook will be available in both CD and download formats.

Dale is no stranger to audio. He earned two Grammy Awards and seven nominations for his work on the Harry Potter series and has a record ten Audie Awards. As established on Broadway as he is in the recording studio, Dale has five Tony nominations, four Drama Desk Awards and four New York Critics Awards as well as a Tony Award for his performance in the musical Barnum. Beloved for both his vocal and acting abilities, Dale has recently been inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame and the American Audio Hall of Fame.

"I'm thrilled to lend my voice to Susan's beautiful story," says Dale. "It's a true pleasure to bring her characters to life."

GHOST HAWK author Susan Cooper is one of today's most distinguished children's writers, and has won a Newbery Medal and a Newbery Honor for books in her fantasy sequence, The Dark is Rising. She is also the author of King of Shadows, Green Boy, and Victory.

Cooper remarks, "There are other wonderful actors, but none of them has Jim Dale's skill and versatility in the medium of audio. I'm delighted he wanted to read GHOST HAWK."

"We're thrilled to have Jim Dale as the voice behind GHOST HAWK," says Chris Lynch, President & Publisher of Simon & Schuster Audio. "He is one of the finest audiobook narrators ever. Pairing him with Susan Cooper's extraordinary new novel will make for an unforgettable listening experience.

GHOST HAWK's intertwining stories of a young Native American and a colonial New England settler create a fascinating tale of friendship and an eye-opening look at the history of our nation. Jim Dale's narration is the perfect accent for this already compelling work.
