Jennifer K. Jordan Reads/Signs DADLY WISDOM, 3/19

On Saturday, March 19 at 3 p.m., Gatsby Books in Long Beach, Calif. will host the book launch of local author Jennifer Karin Jordan's new book, "DADLY Wisdom: Untold Stories That Represent the True Faces of Fatherhood" (Motivational Press).

About the Book:

"DADLY Wisdom" marks the culmination of a 14-year journey for Jordan who, inspired by her father Russ Jordan, began gathering interviews and essays from fathers around the globe.

"This book transformed my life," said Jordan. "I have experienced a deeper appreciation for adoption and foster parenting...yoga and meditation...World War II...the Holocaust...and even healthy eating."

Jordan's book features insights from a wide variety of dads, including Holocaust survivor, Bernard Sayone, who promised his doomed father that he would live to tell the world and his own children what happened at Auschwitz; John Solheim, the C.E.O. of the family-run Arizona golf equipment manufacturing company PING; Paleo Magazine Editor, Caine Credicott; and Congressman Alan Lowenthal. Two views of the Japanese American World War II experience and how they affected parenting are represented by James Tanaka who was "interned" at a U.S. "Relocation Camp," and Jim Makino who fought with the "Go for Broke" unit in heroic battles.

Each chapter concludes with an uplifting author suggestion of how to honor the wisdom shared by each dad, such as: "Today let's be people that others can count on."

Dads Behaving DADLY Book Series and Events:

"DADLY Wisdom" is associated with author/event organizer Hogan Hilling's "Dads Behaving DADLY" series, which includes his book, "Dads Behaving DADLY: 67 Truths, Tears and Triumphs of Modern Fatherhood." Hilling's personal story as the devoted father of a "special needs" child was featured on Oprah, and last year he appeared with his DADLY books on the CBS Morning Show.

"The dads' stories in Jordan's book prove responsible, active fatherhood has always been alive and well all over the world," said Hilling. "DADLY Wisdom clears the undeserved/unfair stigma our culture created of fathers as inept, irresponsible, and absent parents in the last four decades."

Hilling will be on hand at the "DADLY Wisdom" book launch to speak and sign books; and Jennifer K. Jordan will participate in Hilling's DADLY Rally-a celebration of fatherhood slated for July 16.

"I wanted to give a snapshot of fathers' wisdom from across the world," said Jordan, who dedicates this book "to all the fathers who forever have blessed my life."
