WALTHAM CROSS, England

Author James Messam expresses the ideas, dreams and aspirations of characters who don't have a means to express it for themselves in his new collection of poetry "Lyrical Fountain" (published by Xlibris UK).

"'Lyrical Fountain' is a work of creative art, a historical thesis of growth and development, and presented to you with a strong conviction that it will be an inspiration to all who partake of its healing properties," Messam says.

Nostalgic feelings for his home country of Jamaica and his feelings of revolt against the mental, emotional and psychological struggles he had encountered in life gave Messam the inspiration to express himself in writing. Through his poems, Messam hopes to offer readers a more positive outlook on life.

"The book is speaking for the oppressed and down trodden in society," Messam says. "It is an expression of literary acuity from the mind of one who has experienced all kinds of situations locally, nationally and internationally."
