James Edwards Jr. Releases Book on Perspective of Civil War

War, once begun, is butchery. What is it like to march and die? Author James Edwards Jr. answers this question in a rousing historical account of the Civil War from antebellum America to its full scale bloodshed in his debut book titled A Time For Soldiers: A Civil War Journey Volume 1. He is aware that he is making a decision for civil war and must prepare for it as it descends on the nation like a storm. On the other hand, minister Paul Dupre, who despises slavery and the very thought of secession, but who can't help believing in the legality of it, attends the secession convention. He is convinced he can do some good to pour water on the fire, but ends up getting caught in the conflagration. Meanwhile, Chris Barnett, a young reporter for a small newspaper in Franklin, Tennessee, gets permission from President Davis to travel with the western Confederate armies. He is swallowed up in the events, reporting from the front, sometimes literally, and in the process, discovers himself and the cause, already lost but covered in the mystique of history.

A soldier in America is not born, he or she has to be made, which is to say, created. When the cause is right, one goes whole hog to win. The Civil War is proof of the butchery that can result.
