Sylvia Toy St. Louis began the blog "Do You Want To Buy My Brain" in 2007 as a form of bipolar peer activism because she believes "it's important for bipolar people to write about ourselves." WRITING WHILE MANIC (available in the Amazon Kindle Department at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ERVHZME), is a compilation of posts from her blog "Do You Want To Buy My Brain" (2008-2013), which was renamed "Artist's Life 101" in 2013 (http://artistslife101.blogspot.com/). Sylvia Toy St. Louis has been an independent peer presenter, using theater (her plays "Do You Want To Buy My Brain," "JUMP," and "Jill: Anatomy of A Suicide," autobiographical solo performance plays about growing up/living bipolar). In 2005, she founded Jump! Theatre Company, which develops and produces professional theater about personal experiences of mental illness. Her experiences showed her that hearing or reading or watching on stage personal accounts of surviving mental illness helps other mentally ill people believe in themselves because of the validation of the experience and survival of mental illness. Sylvia Toy St. Louis also produces the bipolar vlog, Writing While Manic on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh1GrgcPGCmvlsnMMVam3pw).

Sylvia Toy St. Louis is an actor and videographer. Her portfolio is https://vimeo.com/sylviatoystlouis. She is a YouTube Partner, https://www.youtube.com/user/SylviaToyStLouis. She makes video art and experimental movies composed of scenes that are improvised on camera, mostly in front of a green screen. Her movies range in length from 1 to over 60 minutes and have been screened all over Europe, including Sky Arte HD Television in Italy and in galleries in Paris. She is the sole proprietor of Sylviatoyindustries/Kitchen Scenes Studio in San Francisco. Sylvia Toy St. Louis also was a professional sculptor for many years and her mostly life-sized, handcarved mixed media wooden figures are in collections all over the United States. Sylvia Toy St. Louis' hobbies are mentoring other artists in social networking/self-promotion and making video documentation of graffiti.
