Ian Short's new collection "Nin's Limericks: Odd Odes concerning the Savoy Operas" (published by AuthorHouse) presents a collection of humorous limericks designed to appeal to all lovers of Gilbert and Sullivan.

The limericks range in topic from the wandering minstrel to the Duke of Plaza Toro, and from Mad Margaret to the Fairy Queen. They are set in Titipu, Rederring, Ploverleigh and Pfennig Halbpfennig, places all long-familiar to Gilbert and Sullivan fans.

An excerpt from "Nin's Limericks":

"The Fairy Queen, no-one denies,
Is a lady both gracious and wise;
But she brindled with ire
When a hook on a wire
Elevateded her to the flies:"

Short's limericks have been inspired and collected from his lifelong love of Gilbert and Sullivan, but he stresses his intentions are pure. "If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times... It's meant to be fun."
