I CAN'T FIND MY MANNERS Teaches Modern Day Etiquette

By:

ATLANTA

What do you do when you feel like you are about to cough or sneeze? Are cellphones appropriate for the dinner table? Life is full of lessons that need to be learned by children at a young age. Children do not immediately know what is proper and polite, but parents play a key role in instructing them.

As an educator with over 40 years experience, Gail Reed shares "I Cant Find My Manners" with parents and readers hoping to encourage kindness, positivity and courtesy in all aspects of life.

"When children learn early the basics of good etiquette and the proper way to respond to the challenges of our world then they will be much better prepared to react in a positive way," Reed said.

When a young girl loses the manners that she and her parents have worked so hard to instill, readers are invited to come along and learn the lessons again. There are specific customs for all types of interactions that people have with each other. These rules and guidelines are important for a child's success and need to be practiced every day.

"We live in a world today that has forgotten to teach the basic principles of manners and being kind to others," Reed said. "This needs to be an ongoing skill set that is taught daily."

Reed was named Teacher of the Year at a school in Columbia County, Georgia, and she received the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching, a regional honor. During her time as an educator she had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel and teach in Maadi, Egypt, for three years. Her family enjoyed the Pyramids of Giza, King Tut's tomb and immersing themselves in a new culture.

"I Can't Find My Manners" is Reed's first book, written shortly after she had retired and still desired to teach children.
