Authors John Martin and Cecilia Ribenc team up in creating a new, action-packed, anti-romantic comedy in their new novel, "Help Me Get Rid of My Psycho Girlfriend" (published by AuthorHouse).

"Why do people continue with relationships when it's obvious that it is all over? That was the question that triggered the story," Martin says. "We wanted to explore the dynamic, and do it as a comedy."

Greg is an uptight programmer who needs a break from his long-time relationship with Debbie, his stay-at-home girlfriend with anger management issues. When he leaves for a weekend company retreat, she mistrusts his intentions and follows him, unleashing days of raving madness.

A group of eccentric secondary characters add even more chaos and comic situations to the plot.

But this fun, entertaining story also address the serious issue of toxic relationships. "People are afraid to talk about it," Ribenc says. "But the more we do it, the more we make fun of the bullies, the more we can expose them."
