Hollywood acting coach, Eric Morris, author of 7 acting text books, including No Acting Please, foreword by Jack Nicholson (a former student) will be celebrating 50 years of the Eric Morris System April 27-29 in New York City. The celebration will include a free lecture and book signing at the Drama Book Shop of his latest book, Freeing The Actor, Eric's 80th Birthday and 50 year celebration of the Eric Morris System at Southern Hospitality, and a 20 hour Weekend Workshop at Manhattan Theatre Works.

Eric's controversial acting system is rooted in the Method, yet distinctly represents his own approach. Over the past 50 years he's created over 1,000 instrumental exercises structured to liberate the actor from emotional blocks that get in the way of organic expression as well as over 30 Choice Approaches; ways of creating the character's reality.

Other books by Eric Morris include, Being & Doing, Irreverent Acting, Acting from the Ultimate Consciousness, Acting, Imaging, and the Unconscious, and The Diary of a Professional Experiencer. His books are used in over 300 universities and theatrical institutions world wide.

His acting career includes over 100 Equity plays, 20 motion pictures, 50 network television episodes, and running roles on two syndicated TV series led him on a search for new and workable acting techniques.
