Elvin J. Montgomery Holds Introductory Black History Collectibles Show & Sale at BHCS Brownstone In Harlem

Celebrate Black History Month with noted African-American specialist and author Elvin Montgomery, Ph.D., and his collection of cultural artifacts, rare historical treasures and memorabilia at "INTRODUCTORY Black History Collectibles Sale" on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at BHCS Brownstone - located at 2009 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd (between 120th & 121st Streets) - in Harlem. Scheduled to begin at 10am, admission to the 8-hour event is $7 for adults; $3 for children (RSVP requested at Eventbrite). Dr. Montgomery, the author of the 2002 release Collecting African American History, serves on the Board of Directors of the Appraisers Association of America. A certified appraiser, he has written, taught or consulted extensively on collectibles topics and collection management.

"This introductory Black History Collectibles Sale is for all levels of collectors, from those without experience to the advanced experienced collector," Dr. Montgomery stated. The Harvard College graduate who received a Ph.D., M.Phil. and an M.S. (all in Psychology) from Columbia added, " it is a collectibles sale that offers a range of material culture in Black history to people - ranging from those who want primary source materials for research or who want to collect fast-disappearing objects while such objects are still available to people who want to commemorate their ancestors or to increase their information level and educate themselves or their children."
