DOG HEAVEN Helps Kids Gain Comfort on Death

By: Sep. 29, 2016

It is always a difficult time in a family when a much-loved pet passes away. The new children's book "Dog Heaven" can help kids understand that the pet is in a better place now.

The author, Walter Sample, wanted to give children a positive view of the value of life, but understand that eventually pets must go to heaven. He included fun and fascinating facts about constellations, stars and the universe to help get kids started on their curiosity toward science.

"On their way to learning about Dog Heaven, I want kids to take their first steps toward learning about the stars in the sky," Sample said.

The story of the book tells the true story of the dog Little Bit, the little dog that provided comfort and companionship on Earth before making his way to Dog Heaven. Sample was inspired to write this book after encountering the story of this precious little dog.
