Conn Hamlett likes good Western with realistic characters. As he writes Western stories, he always considers the fact that most people would prefer reading fast moving novels with a good plot. In his latest published book "John Lee Johnson Will Hurt You Bad-Real Bad" (published by Abbott Press), Hamlett pens an engaging tale that speeds quickly without losing quality.

This Western story follows a former union brigadier-general, who has an undying hatred of John Lee Johnson. He hires the deadly Sabbath Sam to head to Texas with 21 hired gunmen to ensure success. As the story unravels, it shows the humanity of characters and their yearning for redemption and revenge.

"John Lee Johnson Will Hurt You Bad-Real Bad" has a powerful central character faced with a very formidable opponent. Interwoven in the story is a former outlaw, Hondo Goodrich, who plays a significant role. The last chapter ends with a climactic showdown and the conscious effect of violence.

The moral in this story, according to Hamlett, is that no matter how dark and gloomy - there is a light from a higher power. "That light eventually shows through," he adds.
