Clinical Psychologist Releases Book on Anniversary of Las Vegas...

On Oct. 1, 2018, the one-year anniversary of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history to date, Dr. Shiva Ghaed is offering her book “Route 91: Healing from Mass Violence and Trauma” as a free download on her new platform, Love Expands.

Dr. Shiva Ghaed (affectionately known to her patients as “Dr. G”) is a clinical psychologist specialized in the treatment of PTSD, trauma and anxiety disorders. She is also a survivor of the Las Vegas massacre, and this has enabled her to have a deeper understanding of the process of recovery from mass violence. Her first-hand account of this event, as well as lessons learned over the past year witnessing the recovery of the Route 91 survivor community, inspired her to write a book to reach a wider audience.

“Surviving that night was only the first of many ways in which I would subsequently be tested in the months to follow,” Dr. Ghaed said. “I was challenged as a clinical psychologist who is specialized in trauma, as a healthcare provider dedicated to caring for hundreds of military patients every week, as a contributing member of society, as a citizen of this country, and as a decent human being.”

Dr. Ghaed’s book, like her work as a therapist, is easily applicable to a general audience who may be suffering from depression, anxiety, or other types of trauma. Her personal story of recovery, as well as her insight about how victims of such tragedies can heal, offer universal truths and guidance applicable to anyone in search of greater happiness and growth beyond trauma.
