Carl K. Osborne's new mystery novel, "Backfired," is a story that immediately grips readers with the tragic destruction of an airliner and all passengers onboard, in which no evidence is available as to what caused the devastation. As the mystery unfolds it is eerily familiar to the recent media coverage about the United States Missile Defense Agency and their faulty programs for homeland security.
As a recently retired criminal defense lawyer for nearly 50 years in Beverly Hills, Calif., Carl Osborne transfers his criminal defense experience, based on over 14,000 cases he has represented, into his engaging writing style. As in his past books, he brings intrigue and anticipation as the pages are turned. "Backfired" is based around cases Osborne has represented whereby he ties together his firsthand experience with corruption, secrecy and the fight for justice. "Backfired" delivers alarming government cover-up operations unveiled slowly by the efforts of the main character, a New York homicide detective who lost his family in the crash. While the story involves top officials and law enforcement, the power of the media plays a significant role as do the involvement of corporate conglomerates. A web of deceit and murder keeps the reader hooked, with twists and turns leading to an unexpected closure.Videos
