Forty years after the evacuation of U.S. troops from the land of Vietnam, Americans recently remembered this fateful period which was the final day of the Vietnam War. In line with this, a new book titled The Tontine shares a story about the eternal bonds of brotherhood. In his riveting work, author Bill Daniell reveals the inspiring journey of four army paratroopers who made a lifelong commitment to one another.

Based on facts, this tale shares the adventures and misadventures of a brotherhood that was constantly being stalked by a wicked and sinister brigadier general from another country. In this tale, readers will explore the highs and lows of their abiding camaraderie, commitment and love for one another. This is a story of four men aboard an old, worn-out army helicopter off the coast of Pusan, South Korea, flying over to the Sea of Japan. Readers will explore their journey and a mix of the extremes in which death-defying events and mundane experiences are intertwined, bringing out various emotions from within.

A book that is relevant in today's times, in which controversy rises from the U.S. military troops being sent to combat wars in the Middle East, The Tontine opens one's eyes to the realization that war is not only about resolving international conflicts, rather it can also make one understand that its true impact is seen in the lives of its fighters, the soldiers whose lives are forever changed by the bonds that they have created.
