DAWSON CREEK, Canada

Author Calvin Woodill portrays an epic adventure set in biblical Earth, before the great flood that nearly extinguished mankind. "Solar Shock" (published by Xlibris) follows the exploits of the young warrior Ramin as he ventures forth into a strange land of mystics and the forgotten descendants of Adam.

It is the time of Tubal-cain, after the fall of man but before the shattering of Pangea's primordial surface. The lands of Nod are divided into five domains, the Highlands, Demon Lands, Flatlands, Jungles, and Dragon Lands. Ramin is of the Highlands, and the story portrays the prideful warrior's rise and fall from grace, his first love and his loss, his travels in the antediluvian landscape, and his fateful meeting with the magic king, a figure shrouded in mystery, a being with an unknown past and future.

With his story, Woodill takes readers to another time and place, to embark on a journey set in the immemorial eons of Genesis, when indescribable beings walked the land amidst cyclopean wonders that stood before the great drowning of the Deluge.
