MusicalFare to Present THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, 9/10-10/12

By:

As a die-hard musical theatre fan plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, the show bursts to life onstage in front of him! He wittily comments on the music, actors, and story of a rambunctious starlet, a panicked producer, a drunken diva, two singing and dancing hit men dressed as chefs, well - I'm sure you get the idea! This completely original musical, not based on a movie, a book, or a cartoon, is full of hummable tunes and overall hilarity. Winner of 5 Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Score, the MusicalFare production will rediscover the show's intimate roots (THE DROWSY CHAPERONE had its world premiere at the Toronto Fringe Festival) in the tradition of previous MusicalFare productions such as AVENUE Q and SPELLING BEE.

The production stars Anthony Alcocer, Diane Di Bernardo Blenk, Charmagne Chi, Steve Copps, Lyndsey Leigh Hibbard, John Kaczorowski, Renee Landrigan, Debbie Pappas, Alan Trinca, Doug Weyand, Matt Witten, Adam Yellen and Eric Rawski as "The Man in the Chair." Set Design is by Chris Schenk, Lighting & Sound Design is by Chris Cavanagh, Costume Design is by Kari Drozd and Hair, Wig and Makeup Design is by Susan Drozd.

The performance schedule is September 10th - October 12th, Wednesdays at 7:00pm, Thursdays at 7:00pm, Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 4:00pm and 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. There will be a special "half-price preview" on Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00pm. Meet-the-cast talkbacks take place after all Wednesday performances EXCEPT opening night, September 10th.

Ticket prices are $40 for all performances. Student and Group rates available.

Ticket reservations may be made by calling 716-839-8540 or online at www.musicalfare.com.
