It may be 1936, but there's no being depressed around the Sycamore's madcap New York townhouse. Grandpa quit his day job 35 years ago and hasn't paid taxes since, Father makes fireworks in the basement, Mother happily types away at un-produceable plays, and the oldest daughter continues a hopeless quest for balletic perfection. When the youngest child brings her Wall Street fiancé's tycoon parents home for dinner, the fireworks aren't the only things to go pop!
