Blackfriars Theatre Opens 2011-2012 Season with TEA AT FIVE, Opens 9/10

By:

Blackfriars Theatre, a not-for-profit, professional theatre on East Main Street's "Theatre Row," is proud to announce the opening of its 2011-2012 season with the return of the critically acclaimed "Tea At Five," a comedic drama by Matthew Lombardo

Jill Rittinger returns as the fiery spirit of Katharine Hepburn in a one-woman show that recounts her journey from a well-heeled Yankee childhood to winner of four Oscars. The play reflects her past dizzying heights and the emotional lows of her adventures in show business and her heartbreaking romance with Spencer Tracy. Her performance at the Rochester Theatre Fest in 2007 led Democrat and Chronicle critic Jack Garner to declare:

"As Hepburn, local actress Jill Rittinger offer viewers one of the best portrayals I've ever seen in

 this region's theaters."

Show times are: Saturday, September 10, 17, 24 at 8pm, Friday, September 16, 23 at 8pm, Sunday, September 11, 18 at 2pm, Wednesday, September 14, at 7:30pm, and Thursday, September, 15, 22 at 7:30pm

"Tea At Five," is directed and designed by John Haldoupis.
