Application Process Now Open For 2018-19 Regional Playwright Residency Program

By:

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) is now accepting applications for its 2018-2019 Regional Playwright Residency Program, now in its third year. Since 2003, RLTP has supported the development of new plays by writers from Western New York. This year's program offers new, exciting support and opportunities, as RLTP continues its commitment to new play and playwright development.

For the 2018-2019 season, RLTP will offer one year of developmental support for one (1) regional playwright's work in progress. Our region extends as far south as Jamestown and as far east as Rochester, and equal distance to the North and West. We welcome and encourage playwrights from Southern Ontario (including Toronto). A "work in progress" can be a play in various stages of completion, however, should not yet have had a production, and should be something that they are willing to commit to working on throughout the year.

Residency support will include a $1,000 playwright stipend distributed in installments throughout the year, as well as development support determined in consultation with RLTP Literary Staff and pursued through monthly working sessions. The Residency will culminate in a staged reading at the end of the term.

Applications for the 2018-2019 Regional Residency are due by September 1, 2018, and should be sent to scripts@roadlesstraveledproductions.org. For application requirements and more information on the RLTP Regional Residency, visit roadlesstraveledproductions.org.
