Via Brooklyn is pleased to announce the New York preview of Dianne Nora's Monica: This Play Is Not About Monica Lewinsky from July 25-27 at 59E59 Theaters as part of the East to Edinburgh Festival. Shining a light on intimacy and privacy in a media-obsessed culture, this new play will travel to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a two-week engagement immediately following its East Coast debut. Priced at $15, tickets for the New York engagement go on sale on May 21 for 59E59 members and on May 29 for the general public. To purchase tickets, visit www.59e59.org or call the box office at 646.892.7999.

Monica: This Play Is Not About Monica Lewinsky is an enlightening examination of how one woman and a nation react to sex, scandal, and secrets. In a culture that no longer values privacy, Monica must reconcile her past relationships while navigating infamy and intimacy in her daily life. As she attempts to reclaim her life while constantly under the media's watchful eye, she encounters head-on how men and women are treated differently when private lives are put on public display. In Monica: This Play Is Not About Monica Lewinsky, Monica comes to terms with decades of reactions to her own behavior-both real and perceived.

In advance of the New York preview of Monica: This Play Is Not About Monica Lewinsky, Via Brooklyn is hosting A Night in Brooklyn: This Is Not An Ordinary Fundraiser on Thursday, June 6 at The New Work Project in Williamsburg (97 N. 10th St., between Berry and Wythe). The evening will offer light fare and drinks, along with select scene readings from the cast and a keynote speech from a speaker to be announced. To RSVP and for more information about the event, visit www.ViaBrooklyn.org.
