A group of artists, educators, and healing practitioners have joined to create The M Center, a new establishment dedicated to bringing creative and healing arts to the community of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

Located on 83rd Street just off of 5th Avenue, the intimate store front will house numerous performance classes from acting to advanced vocal work. Classes in writing, visual arts, and musical instruction are also available. The Center will also house a Reiki therapist, herbalists, astrologers, tarot readers, and a medication circle. There will also be classes in magick instruction.

The founder of the space is Mary Elizabeth Micari, a lifelong Brooklynite. A theatrical professional with credentials as a singer, actress, director, and designer, Ms. Micari has served on staff of nearly a dozen Broadway shows including Wicked, Light in the Piazza, Little Women, Wonderful Town and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She is also a licensed cosmetologist and certified Reiki therapist, herbalist, and aromatherapist, as well as a magickal practitioner.

The studio will open with a fundraiser honoring Jay Michaels, the president of the board of directors of Genesis Repertory (a nonprofit arts organization sponsoring The M Center) on the occasion of his 35 years in the professional theatre. Mr. Michaels is a former professor at Kingsborough College and guest artist at Fordham, Lehman, and Yeshiva universities as well as a celebrated stage and film director and producer.

Fundraiser set for Saturday, November 30 at 8:00 p.m. at 508 83rd Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

Registration for all classes begins December 1, which can be found on line at www.genesis-repertory.org/the-m-center-of-brooklyn.

Classes officially begin January 6 but they're open for business as of December 2.
