September's melancholy is over and now in October, we feel the passing of time.

Luckily, October also brings an anti-aging solution: the Annual Kickstarter Fundraising Campaign. Mark your calendar and have your credit card ready on Tuesday, October 10th. Lending your support to the Invisible Dog will not only rejuvenate Lucien, but we also guarantee it will make you feel at least 10 years younger.

Before then, there are lots to look forward to in the space. On October 7th, Anne Mourier's installation opens in the main space as does Ryan Frank's installation along Bergen Street. Abraham McNally's exhibition will stay on view through October 21st.

Mac Premo and Dustin Louque will host an evening of storytelling on October 12th, while Oliver Jeffers is preparing a little surprise for you on October 20th, and October 28th and 29th will be a weekend for dog lovers with Sophie Gamand's project Pitbull Flower Power back in the Glass House and the launch party for Heather Weston's book Canine's of New York.

NEW EXHIBITIONS

OCTOBER 7 - NOVEMBER 4 ELEVATION BY ANNE MOURIER OPENING RECEPTION SATURDAY OCTOBER 7

Anne Mourier's second solo exhibition at the Invisible Dog Art Center, Elevation, invokes the forces of the feminine reemerging in today's society. A pensive procession of pails of water leads from the entrance into the reaches of the gallery. Three monumental wooden altars display both utilitarian cleaning supplies and sculptural reliquaries of them. Floating overhead, the ethereal image of a figure in peaceful surrender is fragmented across three delicate silk panels. In a continued exploration of site-specific installations, Elevation relies primarily on the gallery's natural light to transform the space into one of self-reflection as it conjures a conversation about the spiritual and symbolic implications of acts of cleaning. OCTOBER 7 - END OF DECEMBER BERGEN STREET WINDOWS BY RYAN FRANK OPENING RECEPTION SATURDAY OCTOBER 7

Bergen Street Windows is a public installation by artist Ryan Frank that combines two iconic American landscapes: a historic Brooklyn block and the mythologized, singular terrain of the Southwest. It is part of an ongoing body of work in which Frank creates faux views within building windows, transforming a familiar urban scene into one that is picturesque, idyllic, and spatially transformative. For Bergen Street Windows, Frank has converted a number of residential and storefront windows into light boxes displaying backlit photographs of the Utah desert. Images of bright red rocks and vibrant blue skies are framed along a sequence of urban windows and doorways, creating a visual contrast between two distant, yet metaphysically related, environments. Pedestrians walking down Bergen Street will be given a unique view of a monumental landscape, as one would hiking along a trail or driving along a scenic two lane road. More info >>>

EXHIBITION STILL ON VIEW
THROUGH OCTOBER 21 WHEELOCK by ABRAHAM MCNALLY

This installation features work Abe made with his father at his childhood home; a Christmas tree farm in Northern Vermont. The single sculpture is made of only two materials: wood and wool. Poplar logs were cut and milled with a chainsaw on the farm's overgrown pastures. Raw sheep fleece was collected from a local farm. These simple materials open conversations between past, present, and place. This human scale sculpture offers a personal visceral encounter: body of sculpture to body of viewer. More Info >>>
