Maybe Burke's 'LOVE LETTERS TO NOBODY' to Premiere as Part of Trans Theatre Festival

Award-winning transgender playwright and performer Maybe Burke has announced that their new play Love Letters to Nobody, Or Insignificant Others will make its world premiere at the Brick Theater as part of the inaugural Trans Theatre Festival. Maybe's show is presented with support from Honest Accomplice Theater Company and in association with Parity Productions.

"I am so elated to be a part of this groundbreaking, unique festival", says Burke. "I am in extraordinary company with many talented trans artists and excited to participate in something where I am not alone - a token among other artists" Burke adds, "It is so important to see yourself accurately represented on stage, And Love Letters to Nobody, or Insignificant Others is one of many significant stories being represented at the festival."

Love Letters to Nobody, or Insignificant Others is written and preformed by Maybe Burke and directed by Ariel Mahler with additional material by Exes of Maybe Burke. In this series of letters to and from their insignificant others, Maybe tells pieces of a story about how identity, love, sex, and trauma all influence each other. "People hide real feelings in a lie they call love." This moving solo show takes a multilayered look at abuse, happiness, disappointment and hope; all through the lens of love, and sometimes, the lack thereof.

Lighting design is by Zephan Ellenbogen, sound design is by Teresa Lotz, costume design by Daniel Tyler Mathews and stage management by Emma Ruopp. Run Time: 60 minutes

Maybe Burke is an award-winning New York based director, choreographer, writer, performer, and trans advocate telling the stories that have yet to be told in mainstream American theatre.
