MadArts Studios presents a Spring Open Studio event - come and explore a collection of local Brooklyn artists in their element on Saturday, April 23 & Sunday, April 24, 1-6pm at 255 18th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215. Free!

Featuring the works of: Bob Melzmuf, Joe Dolinsky, Roberta Lawson, Jose Arenas, Marianne Blair, Keri Oldham, Andrew Murdock, Zipi Green, Rose DiSiano, Alexandra Sullivan, Alexandra Sullivan, Stephen Paul, Luciana Pincheiro, Katie Hector, Jackie Duvall Smith, Lou Mazzell, Frank Szelwach, Katerina Karadza, Suzanne Scott Pepperdine, Kjersti Faret, Louis De Villiers, ssskullboy, Charlotte Corini, Dee Dee Gomes, and Lucy Walters-Maneri.

Madarts is a 14,000 square foot arts facility on two floors of a former Renault factory/home furnishings warehouse in the community between Park Slope and Sunset Park that we affectionately refer to as SoSlo. South Slope.

The philosophy behind Madarts is 'to encourage, inspire and promote' the artists in the project. Every artist that has a studio at Madarts is asked to participate in two group shows, annually. This gives the artists a venue for their work and also demands that they continue to produce new work regularly. Only new work is accepted for the shows.

It is our goal to present some of the strongest group shows anywhere and to present these shows to as broad an audience as possible. About 30 artists work in 25 art studios. Stephen Paul, the founder of Madarts, began construction in the summer of 2003.
