GRIFT CITY to Close Neurodivergent Plays' 2025-26 Season
Anthony J. Piccione's dystopian satire will be directed by Sydney Dubitsky.
This June, Neurodivergent Plays will conclude its 2025-26 Season with a reading of Grift City - written by Anthony J. Piccione and directed by Sydney Dubitsky - at Brooklyn Art Haus, located at 24 Marcy Ave, Brooklyn, NY, on June 21st at 4:30pm EST. Tickets are available for $15.
Grift City is a dystopian sci-fi thriller about the pitfalls of privatization and capitalism. In the year 2104, Raven Grimm is a cop-for-hire that is contracted under the Private City Police Department, in a sprawling metropolis where the entire local government has been privatized. After the disappearance of a notable young actress, Raven takes a new case that leads her down the path toward investigating the most influential quadrillionaire in the entire city, in this dystopian satire where the line between homo sapiens and artificial sapiens has become more blurred than ever.
Founded in 2023 by autistic playwright and producer Anthony J. Piccione, Neurodivergent Plays - previously known as the Neurodivergent New Play Series - is dedicated to presenting matinee readings on the 3rd Sunday of every month - with seasonal breaks in December, January, July, and August - of plays written entirely by neurodivergent and disabled playwrights (i.e. autism, ADHD, dyslexia, OCD, Tourette syndrome, etc.) as part of a growing resident company of playwrights whose interests and specialties span a wide range of subjects, genres & structural approaches, with each play personally selected from a neuroinclusive resident company of directors.
