Full Line-Up Announced For THE LQQK FETE

What Will The Neighbors Say? announces further details about the latest benefit performance evening, a co-production with artist José Rivera Jr. A frequent collaborator of WWTNS?, Rivera Jr. is an innovative and talented musician, dancer, and performance artist of Puerto Rican-American descent who centers his work on a queer future for all. The benefit, LQQK FÊTE: A New Performance Series of New Music Dance, Video, and Interdisciplinary Art, will raise funds for his upcoming visual EP, "LQQK, The Way I Look." The event will be held next Tuesday, December 4th, at Williamsburg venue The Counting Room, 44 Berry St, Brooklyn, NY 11211 (on the corner of North 11th street). Doors open at 7pm, with shows starting at 8pm, and tickets are priced at $15 in advance and $20 at the door, and are available at www.lqqk.eventbrite.com.

"LQQK, The Way I Look" is the debut visual EP from Rivera Jr. Stereotypes of masculinity and the illusion of "fitting in" metamorphose as style, still and moving image, dance, and music move toward a queer future. Using his powerhouse vocals, dance as a visual medium, and site specific sets José creates glam musical paintings. In Spring 2017, José released a cover of Queen's 'Somebody to Love' as a farcical response to the current US Administration's perspective on gay conversion therapy. The video to date has garnered over 150k views in 20 countries.A selection of the music and video will premiere in concert at The Glove in Bushwick, Brooklyn, as part of the 2019 Exponential Festival. "LQQK" and Rivera Jr. has been featured in The New York Times, NPR, Quail Bell Magazine, The Georgia Voice, The Advocate, Logo, and Gay Times Magazine, among many other outlets.

The LQQK FÊTE features a headlining set by Rivera Jr. as well as video installations by Proteo Media and WWTNS? Co-Artistic Director Jorge Morales Picó, music by Karl Ronneberg, Cesar Gonzalez, Pepper Levian and DJ Sara Jabbari, dance by Benedict Nguyen and Cristina Ramos and comedy by Sarah B Hartshone. WWTNS? Co-Artistic Director and performer James Clements will MC. This event offers a unique opportunity to see these twelve diverse artists for a low price in an intimate venue.
