Young Queenslander Jayson Gillham is making waves on the international music scene. In winning the UK's Commonwealth Musician of the Year Gold Medal at the Royal Over-Seas League's Annual Competition he follows in the footsteps of piano giants Geoffrey Parsons, John Lill, Melvyn Tan and Piers Lane. As soloist for Grieg's Piano Concerto of swirling dramatic pianism and the Norwegian composer's most popular work, Gillham returns as a fully professional pianist with the QSO under the inspiring direction of Eivind Aadland. Mozart's Symphony No.39 is considered to be an orchestral marvel of sublime beauty.
