Wheelock Family Theatre Announces ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY

Wheelock Family Theatre at Boston University announces a special engagement of Elephant & Piggie's "We Are In A Play!" based on the Elephant & Piggie books by Mo Willems, with script and lyrics by Mo Willems and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma. Directed by Wheelock Family Theatre's Education Director, Jeri Hammond, the production returns to Wheelock Family Theatre after playing to sold-out audiences at Boston's Children's Museum to perform four afternoon matinees at 1pm, February 19, 20, 21, and 22. An elephant named Gerald and a pig named Piggie are best, best, "bestus" (a word Gerald and Piggie made up that means "very best") friends, but Gerald worries that something could go wrong that would end their friendship. Piggie is not worried at all. She's even happier and more excited than usual. That's because she and Gerald are invited to a party hosted by the Squirrelles, three singing squirrels who love to have a good time. And so begins a day when anything is possible. Filled with beloved characters and lively songs, Elephant & Piggie's "We Are in a Play!" is a perfect fun-filled family adventure at the theater, recommended for all ages.

WFT's production of Elephant & Piggie's "We Are In A Play!" features: BC Williams (as Gerald), Abigail Mack (as Piggie), and Marie Libbin, Lily Ramras, Brianna LaShay Smith (as Squirrelles).

WFT's creative team for Elephant & Piggie's "We Are In A Play" include Jeri Hammond (director), Nathan Urdangen (musical director), Laurel Conrad (choreographer), Matthew T. Lazure (scenic and props designer), B.C. Williams (lighting designer), Heather Radovich (production stage manager).

This play was commissioned by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was first produced at the Kennedy Center during the 2013-2014 season.
