WAM Theatre Presents “Alison Larkin LIVE!”

On Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5, internationally acclaimed comedienne, award-winning audiobook narrator, and bestselling author of The English American, adoptee Alison Larkin premieres her hilarious, thought-provoking new show, Alison Larkin LIVE!, right here in the Berkshires! There will be three performances at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre at Shakespeare & Company: Friday, May 4, at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, May 5, at 2 pm and 7:30 pm, with a panel discussion after the Saturday matinee, and an exclusive champagne reception with Ms. Larkin for VIP ticket holders on Saturday night.
Larkin will talk about her adoption by British parents, her reunion with her American birth mother, culture conflict, parenting teenagers, life in the Berkshires, and how to brew that perfect cup of tea. This night of laugh-out-loud comedy will be presented for one weekend only.
The performance will celebrate the audiobook release of Larkin's new AudioFile Earphones Award-winning recording of her bestselling novel The English American, which includes an interview and other bonus material. "The show was performed once in preview at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center," shared Alison Larkin. "Since then, people have been asking me when it's going to premiere. I knew the answer when Kristen asked me if there was anything I'd like to do for WAM. I'm a big fan of the work WAM is doing and delighted to be doing this performance in May in the Berkshires."
There will be a post-show panel discussion following the 2 pm matinee on Saturday, May 5. The "Don't Know Much About History" panelists will discuss adoption, reunion and what the brave new world of donor conception can learn from adopted people and their families. The panel will be facilitated by Ms. Larkin.
