Then, on Saturday, April 10, there will be a performance by the all-vocal rock band, Five O'Clock Shadow. Ellis Paul: "Friday is The Day After Everything Changed"

Ellis Paul is one of the leading voices in American songwriting. He was a principle leader in the wave of singer/songwriters that emerged from the Boston folk scene, creating a movement that revitalized the national acoustic circuit with an urban, literate, folk pop style that helped renew interest in the genre in the 1990's. Also appearing: Pesky J. Nixon. Fri Apr 9, 8 pm.

Five O'Clock Shadow

Five O'Clock Shadow, the all-vocal rock band from Boston, is living proof that a band without instruments can still rock. Using the same tech wizardry that guitarists have been using since the dawn of rock, Dan, Oren, Paul, and Caleb morph their voices into shredding guitar riffs and solos right before your very ears. Meanwhile, their one-man vocal rhythm section, Stack, lays down his "beatbass": mouth beats and vocal bass thundering forth from his face, both at the same time.

Also known as "FOCS", Five O'Clock Shadow has vocally rocked audiences of all ages throughout the US and Japan, and in every kind of venue. Through their educational program FOCS has presented workshops and concerts to thousands of music students from coast to coast. They've performed for the Boston Celtics, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and the NFL Football Hall of Fame. Saturday, April 10 at 8 pm.

Music and Dance from My Childhood

Memories conjured by Schumann's Scenes from Childhood and Ravel's Mother Goose Suite evoke a journey to the Fairy Gardens, Tom Thumb, the Japanese Princess, and Beauty and the Beast. Music and Dance From My Childhood is a collaboration between Allegro Music School and Children's Dance Theatre, where both music and dancers conjure a time of innocence and simplicity, when princes fell for princesses and lived happily ever after. Sun Apr 11, 2 pm.

Tangled Tales from Dan Hicks and The Hot Licks

Beginning as a drummer in the 60's San Francisco rock band The Charlatans, and continuing with his unique and legendary Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, Hicks is widely acknowledged as one of the defining figures in American roots music. He continues to carve his way through a number of genres from proto-psychedelia to western swing and jazz, from tin pan alley to country blues, all the while cultivating his own unique sound. Fri Apr 16, 8 pm.

Raucous Chicago Blues

The Grammy-award winning blues harmonica player James Cotton brings his sizzling all-star band to TCAN. Inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2006, the Smithsonian Institute in 1991, and winner of countless W.C. Handy Blues Awards, he has shared the stage with B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Winter, the Allman Brothers, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, and many others. Sat Apr 17, 8 pm.
