TC Squared Theatre Company to Present QUI' MO CHIC Staged Reading at WHAT, 12/8
Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater is again hosting TC Squared Theatre Company for a playwright retreat and public reading this December. It is the third time the Boston company has been to Wellfleet for a retreat. The reading is December 8 at 2pm, on Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater's Julie Harris Stage.
Qui' Mo Chic follows the paths of Xavier and Will, two LA based artists and lovers. Will has just been offered the dream of a lifetime: a one-man comedy show on one of the hottest stages in New York. But Xavier is experiencing shooting pains in the back of his neck. He's losing his balance. One visit to the doctor confirms his worst fear: cancer. Is love more important than career? Can love save us from death? Jahcobie Cosom's powerful and poignant drama explores the fragility of life, the role of love, and the desire for success, even in the looming shadows of death.
Playwright Jahcobie Cosom is a native of Boston, MA, and was raised in the Dorchester/Roxbury communities. Jahcobie is a high school graduate of Boston Arts Academy, where he studied Theatre Arts and became the school's first Media Arts Major. He holds a BFA from California Institute of the Arts and is now based in Los Angeles. His work has been featured across America and abroad, including Germany, the MFA Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Philadelphia. He has also worked for The City of Santa Clarita Heroin Kills film campaign. Jahcobie is the founder of CoCo Chic Productions. His poetic writing METEMPSYCHOSIS was featured in Psychic Outlaws, at CalState University/ Los Angeles Luckman Arts Complex. He is an active playwright for TC Squared.
Qui' Mo Chic not only reflects the personal growth of this young voice, but also displays his courage. It is challenging for a writer to expose his ideas in such an emotionally vulnerable way.
TC Squared Theatre Company's mission is to encourage and produce staged readings of new works by Boston Arts Academy alumni who are now writing and acting in the professional theatre. Their role is to mentor young artists to reach diverse audiences through socially relevant theatre, which challenges opinions and pushes artistic boundaries to produce transformative theatre.
Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater is the award-winning theater company that inspired "a new vigor for theater on the Cape" (New York Times).
