Stoneham Theatre Opens LUMBERJACKS IN LOVE Tonight, 9/13

A new musical comedy is coming to Stoneham Theatre, Lumberjacks in Love. The Boston premiere of Lumberjacks in Love is from the creators of Stoneham Theatre's Season 7 favorite, Guys on Ice.

Lumberjacks in Love is a slaphappy tale of five burly bachelors. When Slim accidentally orders himself a mail order bride, their simple shanty lives are turned upside down since they have always been 200 miles from the nearest woman. Or so they've thought…one of these smitten lumberjacks is actually a woman.

Lumberjacks in Love features Stoneham favorites such as Steve Barkhimer (A Year with Frog and Toad), Darcie Champagne (The Full Monty), William Gardiner (Guys on Ice), Mark Linehan (42nd Street), Vanessa Schukis (Sunfish), and welcomes Harry McEnerny (Avenue Q, Lyric Stage Company). Lumberjacks in Love is directed by Caitlin Lowans (The Fully Monty) and choreographed by Kelli Edwards.

Lumberjacks in Love is not only new, but unique as well. Every actor on stage doubles as a musician. The actors are their own orchestra. Piano and drums? Sure. But you'll also see actors playing the ukulele, washboard, or anything else they can get their hands on. Lumberjacks in Love will prove to be an uproarious hootenanny that you will not want to miss!
