Steps Theatre Presents THE GREATER TUNA, Now thru 9/14

By:

Steps Theatre (a division of Steps Off Broadway) will be performing "The Greater Tuna" for only 6 performances. There will be 7:30 PM performances tonight, September 5, and September 6, 12, 13 and 2:00 PM performances on September 7, 14. All performances will be held at Steps very own intimate theater at 799 South Main Street in Bellingham.

"Greater Tuna" is a show written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard. This is a sharp satiric comedy that features two actors playing multiple characters from the third smallest town in the big state of Texas, called Tuna. A series of mind-bending, head to toe quick changes brings this comedy to life as a wild array of wacky citizens share their daily life in a fast paced send up of small town morals and more. All the action takes place in one 24 hour day and centers around the town's responses to the death of local Judge Roscoe Buckner who was known by all as the Judge who hung more people during his career than any other active judge. This fictional town of Tuna, Texas is peppered with iconic characters like Aunt Pearl, Vera Karp, Sherriff Givens, Petey Fisk, The Bumiller Family, and the local radio news anchors Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie.

The play is performed by Bill Olson and Bill Steele, two professional actors from Florida who have traveled this production all the way here to share it with audiences of south central Massachusetts. It is the first play in a series of four that have been written by the same authors is a hilarious tribute to the art of acting. It has been a cult classic for the more than thirty years and it has been performed coast to coast. This light hearted, adult themed, comedy will keep you laughing and reeling and you will be sure to recognize the characters from your family, your neighborhood, and maybe even yourself. You will not want to miss this fun filled show, here in Bellingham for 2 weekends ONLY!!

Tickets can be purchased at www.stepsoffbroadway.com. Tickets for all shows are $18.00 each.
